On July 26, 2026, Hayley and Petros celebrated their marriage with an intimate Eritrean-American wedding at Greenhouse Loft in Chicago. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, their day was elegant, relaxed, and filled with meaningful traditions, joyful dancing, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together.

It was a smaller wedding with an elegant, relaxed feel. There wasn’t a packed timeline or a long list of events to get through. Instead, the day moved at its own pace, with plenty of time for the things that actually mattered — being together, talking with family, taking portraits, and eventually getting everyone on the dance floor.

As a Chicago wedding photographer, I loved documenting the way their celebration brought together Eritrean traditions and American wedding customs while still feeling completely personal to them.

An Intimate Wedding in Chicago

Hayley and Petros’ wedding was a beautiful example of how an intimate celebration can still feel incredibly special. With their closest people gathered together, the day felt relaxed and intentional, with plenty of room for genuine conversations, laughter, and meaningful moments.

The day began with a private first look before guests arrived for cocktail hour. Later, Hayley and Petros made a memorable entrance into the reception, accompanied by traditional Eritrean dancing.

The celebration continued with an Eritrean dinner, a meaningful family blessing, and time for the couple to step outside for some intimate portraits together.

A Beautiful Eritrean-American Celebration

One of the most special parts of the day was the way Eritrean traditions were woven naturally into the wedding celebration.

From the traditional dancing during the couple’s entrance to the Eritrean dinner and the energy that filled the dance floor later in the evening, the celebration felt deeply connected to family and heritage while also incorporating familiar American wedding traditions.

After dinner, the evening continued with cake cutting, family portraits, and plenty of dancing. The combination of quiet, intimate moments and lively celebration made the day feel completely personal to Hayley and Petros.

For this intimate Chicago wedding, my goal was to capture both the elegance of the setting and the genuine emotions happening throughout the day.

I focused on natural portraits, candid interactions, family moments, and the energy of the celebration — creating a gallery that feels timeless while still preserving the personality of the day.

Hayley and Petros’ wedding was intimate, elegant, and full of meaning — a beautiful Eritrean-American celebration in Chicago.

Congratulations, Hayley & Petros!
